rains - happiness or pains !!!

Rains bring a mixed feelin… I mean when they relieve us of the prolonged summer heat we long for some more… but when they wet my shoes and pants when I am off to my hospital I really get pissed… anyways the joys of havin rains around us far exceeds the troubles it causes… I sign off wishing for more rains…

Veterinary consultation

I recently had the opportunity to check the eyes of a dog on request of a vet… I was pretty excited bout the same… but my joy was short lived when I saw the dog… he had a malignant tumor of the eye which had eroded into the oral cavity… when we confronted with the owner about the same he asked the vet to put the dog to ‘sleep’… it was a very brave decision on the owners part as the dog was with them for 6 7 yrs… but rather than putting the dog to future suffering they decided to kill him… I witnessed a mercy killing for the first time… I couldn’t see it… I stood outside while it was done… the end was sad… but necessary for the dog… may its soul get peace and attain heaven….

patient for tuboplasty

Swapna had a patient in between for tuboplasty (it’s a procedure involving reversal of a sterilization operation known as tubal ligation). Reason for tuboplasty – she had a son 12 years old who died in an accident. Husband wants another child from her…and if she fails to deliver he is going to marry another woman…!!! Now who is to blame… that man who wants a child… one can argue that he can adopt a child… that maybe a decision to be taken following the results of tuboplasty… or God who took away the couples beloved child and left the family in shambles… who is to blame for the present situation of that poor woman… I can understand how difficult it must be for her… she has lost a child… and now husband has put forth this condition. The stress she would be in may alone hamper her chances of re-conceiving… lets pray for the woman and hope she conceives again…

greivin old lady...

An old lady comes to me since last 1 year… comes alone… has a married son…  comes to me with complaints of giddiness… with no findings on examination… always said no one brings her… n no one takes care of her… I always felt pity on her and cursed her son for not taking care of her… today I came late to my clinic as a car stopped in my path… n to my surprise tht old ladys son dropped her in his car… she walked alone without any signs of discomfort till my clinic not knowing tht I was behind her… after she entered my clinic she came to me and again had the same complaint… severe giddiness… she showed difficulty while walking from my clinic door to the seat..and again complained no one looks after her and she came alone… I cursed myself for having cursed her son… and thought this was may be some kind of presentation of some psychiatric or geriatric (old age) problem… maybe the old lady needed company or someone to listen to her… and me being a very patient listener of all the home problems of many of my patients, maybe I was the one she looked for some kind words…

2 things out of this… never judge anyone over only one sided hearing… and hope I don’t have such a geriatric situation in future J              

politics - we do n we oppose...!!!

Many times we feel very bad about politicians interferin in others lives or showing their high handedness over things… many of us curse these politicians a lot when we see on tv or read in papers about how they exploit other people… but then giving it a thought haven’t we all done or atleast wanted to get things done through political intervention???  If we have atleast one done or even thought about gettings things done our way through political intervention then I personally feel we have no right to criticize them now… its because of our small things tht these politicians get courage to go for bigger exploits… we feed them when they are small so we have no right to curse them when they go out of hand…  comments are most welcome… debatable issue..!!!

Its been days since I wrote my blogs… and now am back at it again… I was so pleased to see people asking me to start writin my blogs again… but I was a bit lazy to pen down my thoughts… but have again decided to start all over again…. Thanx to all those who have been an inspiration…
