Sach ka saamna….is it worth the money???

A new tv serial ‘Sach Ka Samna’ is running currently wherein people are asked questions regarding themselves and are expected to say the truth which is matched with a polygraph test… they win money if it matches… the questions involved are so private and intimate that the answers involved are definitely going to lead to lots of hassles and feuds between relations…. I mean everyone has secrets in their lives… secrets which are best remained hidden, lest they cause unnecessary problems… is the money won in the show worth it??? I mean relations may be spoilt because of the answers… is money worth that much??
Someone should survey and ask all the participants couple of weeks after the show whether it was worth it??

Thodasa ‘problem’….

I had a patient today…a 71 yr old man with high myopia… number in both eyes of -11 and -14… he came for a check of his glasses… I asked him if he was otherwise medically fine… he replied “doctor I am very fine… I just have thodasa diabetes and thodasa heart blocks…baki I am perfectly fine!!!” I told him tht tht thodasa which he had was more then enough… pat came his reply “now I have lived a long life… if I keep on thinking about these problems I will increase my stress… doc says they cant operate on me without risk.. so I said jaude… kai hoil te baghu…” as a doc someone may feel wht a careless fellow… he has such major problems of health… but if u think about it wht he said made sense… he was already 71… had lived the major part of life in health… now if at all he undergoes tht surgery with due risk and smething happens…either he can die on table or live a bad quality life… of course if everythin goes fine then he may live much longer… but at a major risk… his decision of living with it, a very bold one was I feel the correct one….

Folly of creators of religion…

Today when people fight endlessly over the name of religions, I ponder over the initiation of it… I mean people initially were clustered in areas across the world… scholars in each of those areas created religions in order to keep a check on the people… to prevent them from vices and to help them lead a pious life… little did they knw that when people from each of those areas came in front of each other clashes would result from the little ‘opposites’ mentioned in the holy books of each religions…by opposites I mean while sme religion considers a particular animal as holy the other religion eats it and considers some other animal holy which is further eaten by a third religion… so with such small opposites clashes were bound to happen… and with power hungry people around in all ages these ego clashes have now progressed to this present scenario… I personally feel that its now time to come up with a different religion of ‘HUMANITY’ involving all the people of the world irrespective of their present religion, so that we may live in a peaceful world… I know what I think would be considered by most of you as ‘FICTION’… still its human to hope… no religion prohibits it…

Yin and Yang about Swine Flu!!!

Theres an old Chinese saying “theres a yin and yang to everything”. All things have a positive and a negative side. Lets take a look at the latest.. ‘Swine Flu’… while it has proved to be a menace and killing disease with lots of deaths , at the same time it has profited chemists, some doctors (as some themselves got affected by it), makers of cleaning and sterilization products.

SPANDAN Foundation

Since last couple of years I had started developing a zeal of social service… initially I did it myself… but it was a limited affair... so I got involved with a couple of NGOs like UDAAN foundation and ROTARY international… both do a lot of social service and charity… but them being an international foundation with lots of money needed for things other than pure charity like ads and promotion. Ofcourse a big organization like them need it.. I wnt say it a waste of money…but there are matters of red tape involved… I wanted something where I could do service without any hassles involved… and the day I was thinking about this my friend Vikram came and asked me wether we can start an NGO…it was a grt coincidence tht we both had the same thought at the same time… and then with a couple of meetings SPANDAN came into existence… lets hope we can take SPANDAN the distance…J

breath holding experience....

Last night as I was returnin from a dinner meeting an elderly gentleman who is very particular, self esteemed type of a person asked me for a lift. we sat in the car with the music n AC blowing with the windows closed. At a point about 200 mts from his house tht elderly gentleman farted and the whole car was filled with a really bad odour. The genltman kept on talking as if nothing had happened.. I thought if I open the windows he might be embarrassed or feel awkward… so I held my breath, stopped breathing and increased the speed of the car… in 15 seconds I was at his doorstep. But those 15 seconds were horrible as I had held my breath… as soon as he got out n said thnx I opened all the windows and took a deep breath of fresh air… man I decided tht day that if I ever have to drop someone after a dinner meeting I am not going to put on the AC and would be keepin all the windows open…hehehehe….
